Handing an Otahuhu clinic back to the community

In 2018 Alliance Health Plus ‘rescued’ an Otahuhu clinic at the request of the GP owner who was no longer able to practice. The clinic was purchased and re-branded to Alliance Family Healthcare Otahuhu and this strategic acquisition enabled the practice to remain a clinic for the community, run by members of the community.

Following investment in the infrasucture to enhance the patient experience and improvement in systems and processes, technologies and models of care, the time came to return the clinic back to the hands of local GP owners and we are delighted to announce the sale of Alliance Family Healthcare to a husband and wife team; Dr Imran Zia and Dr Sobia Imran.

Dr Imran Zia and Dr Sobia Imran have worked for a number of years at Botany Medical and Urgent Care, Bakerfield Medical and Urgent Care and Eastside Family Doctors. Dr Imran has a focus on Urgent Care and has recently become a fellow with the RNZCGP. Dr Sobia is a recognised Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners as well as a teacher of trainee GPs.

AH+ CEO Wayne Williams, CFO Umesh Chandra, Practice Network Manager Vanita Hira and other AH+ staff attended a small get-together at the practice to formally acknowledge the change of ownership.

We are very pleased to see the practice, which is now called 'Lifeline Medical Centre Otahuhu', in the safe and capable hands of passionate new owners. Congratulations!
